Mr. Raeford Franklin McCollem, 81, of East Bend, formerly of 2140 Olivet Church Road, died Friday, July 1, 2005, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born Feb. 21, 1924, in Forsyth County to John Robert and Leola Vestal McCollem. Mr. McCollem was a member of Olivet Moravian Church, and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. after 42 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Tucker McCollem, of the home; a daughter, Donna M. Livengood; two grandsons, Jeff T. Livengood and Mark K. Livengood; a great-grandson, Austin R. Livengood, all of East Bend; three brothers, Robert McCollem of Kernersville, Raymond McCollem of Stokesdale and Ralph McCollem of Kernersville; and four sisters, Lois Gregory of Greensboro, Hazel Hendrix of Summerfield, Jane Holt of Galax, Va., and Ann Reavis of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 3, at Olivet Moravian Church, with the Rev. Doug Rights officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, July 2, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
