Dorothy Elizabeth Foss, 98, of New Haven, entered eternal life at Mount Clemens Regional Healthcare Medical Center. She was born in Lenox Township, a daughter of John and Aurelia (Kesner) Stier. On Nov. 12, 1932, she married John F. Foss at St. John Lutheran Church in New Haven.
Mrs. Foss graduated from Michigan Normal College, now Eastern Michigan University. She was a former elementary school teacher in New Haven and taught Sunday School for 20 years. She was the oldest living member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lenox and a member of the Farm Bureau Extension Club. She enjoyed ceramics and gardening
Mrs. Foss is survived by two daughters, Marcia (Wilbur) Wilson of Midland and Penny (Wesley) Teller of Armada; two sisters, Donna Renwick of New Haven and Verna Mayer of New Haven; 12 grandchildren; Debra Teller, Lori Klingensmith, Tammy Burt, Diana Rotz, Amy Parker, Tina Jaeger, Julie Couzynse, John Foss, Guy Foss, James Foss, Marlo Hill, and Ted Teller; 27 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, on Aug. 27, 1989; two sons, Allan Foss on Aug. 13, 2000, and Terry Foss on June 4, 2000; parents, John and Aurelia (nee Kesner) Stier; a sister, Edith Renwick; three brothers, Lewis, Mervyn and Clifford Stier; and a great-great grandson.
Visitation: Thursday, February 14, 2008, from 2-9 p.m.
Services: Friday, February 15, 2008, at Tiffany-Young and Hauss Funeral Home, 73919 North Ave. (north of 33 Mile), Armada, Michigan. Lay Minister Bill Austin officiating. Burial in Meade Cemetery in Macomb Township.
