Robert G. "Bud" Copps 7/13/25 ~1/8/04
Bud passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 13, 1925 in Burke, South Dakota to Patrick and Ella (Dion) Copps. Bud proudly served in three branches of the military and was honorably discharged from each including: US Coast Guard, US Navy, and US Marine Corps. He married Maxine L. Johnson, they had five children together. They were later divorced. Bud married Ruby Mae Taylor on December 10, 1965. They have been together for over 38 years and joined their families of ten children. Bud is survived by his wife, Ruby M. Copps, by one sister, Patricia Copps of Walnut Creek, CA; by eight children, Richard (Paula) Copps of Roy, Ut; Jeri (Dean) Burgess of Roy, Ut; Janis (Lynn) Christopherson of North Ogden, Ut; Judy (Morten) Libekk of Riverdale, Ut; Sandy (Bill) Worrall of Anchorage, Ak; Dennis (Sheri) Taylor of Tooele, Ut; Marvin (Jan) Taylor of Washington Terrace, Ut; Pam Hymas of Wendover, NV; and by daughter in law, Norma Copps Peters of Roy, Ut. He also has 29 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, sister, Luella Marie "Sister Ellen Patrice" Copps, his son, Robert J. "Robbie" Copps, his daughter, Roylene Alexander, and mother in law, Allegra Veraldi. Bud will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help cover medical expenses, in the name of Robert G. Copps at any Golden West Credit Union. Services will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36th Street Ogden, Utah 84403 on January 13, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will take place on Monday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Interment will be in the Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
