Joseph served as a Private First Class, 2nd Ranger Battalion, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Saint Louis, Missouri prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on February 25, 1943 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. He was noted as being employed as a Baker and also as Single, without dependents.

Joseph was "Killed In Action" in France on D-Day during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Service # 37604291

This record is a "Cenotaph" in his honor.

Joseph was originally interred in the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in Missouri however his family had his remains moved to another cemetery. It is unknown as this time where he is now interred.
