Wounded severely July 4, 1863, Battle of Helena, Ark.
Union defenses were attacked by a force of approx. 10,000 Confederates however at the end of the day the union still held the ground.
Peleg died of wounds July 13,1863, Memphis, Tenn. No burial site listed. Assume Memphis Nat. Cemetery.
