Charles Curry was born in 1846 in Loudoun County, Virginia. He was a carpenter and a miller.
Curry enlisted in Co. A, Independent Loudoun Rangers, on Dec. 21, 1863, at Point of Rocks, Md. The Loudoun Rangers, a cavalry and scouting unit, were the only organized military command to fight for the Union from present-day Virginia. Curry was mustered out on May 31, 1865, at Bolivar, W.Va.
He married Rebecca Curry (b. Nov. 2, 1846, d. April 17, 1928) in Frederick, Md., on May 11, 1864.
Curry died on Nov. 20, 1910, at age 64 and 9 months, in Washington, D.C.
