Captain David Atkinson, of Corderry, was third son or David Atkinson, of Channon Rock. His wife was Mary Jane, daughter of Benjamin Bell, of Ballynewry, County Armagh. She died 3rd June 1820. David Atkinson, of Channon Rock, was second son of George Atkinson, of Dundalk, by Margaret, daughter of David Gaussen, of Newry. His wife, Hannah, was daughter of John Trueman, of Brockley, County Armagh, by Mary Smith. John Fleming, of the Hill, Monaghan, was married to Mary Atkinson, granddaughter to David and Jane Atkinson. Henry Smith, of Channon Rock, was married to Mary, only daughter of David and Hannah Atkinson. Elizabeth Grindall Robinson was granddaughter to Davis and Anne Jane Atkinson, so were the infant children of John and Anne Jane Atkinson.
