She was the daughter of Joseph M. Patton & Emily Fowler Patton. She became the wife of Thomas N. Dysart 24 May 1905 soon after he graduated from St. Louis Law School. He established a law practice in his home town of Macon, Missouri. When, in 1908, he husband joined the investment banking firm of William R. Compton Co. the couple moved to St. Louis.

Her husband was a civic minded individual who served as president of the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce for ten years before he was killed in 1943 in a glider crash.
