| Birth: | Aug. 11, 1936 | | Death: | Oct. 22, 1986 |  George B. Sargent, 50, of 2608 26th Avenue, Parkersburg, died Wednesday evening in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in McDowell County, son of Izettie Davis Sargent of Anawalt, McDowell County and the late Millard Sargent. He was a member of the Calvary Mission Church, was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict, was an employee of the Wood County Board of Education and had previously worked in the oil fields.
He is also survived by his wife, Rita "Jeanie" Sommerville Sargent; two sons, Kenneth Ray and George Allen Sargent, at home; four brothers, William sergeant of Wadestown, Douglas Sargent in Hawaii, Junior Sargent of Cleveland, Ohio, and Roger Sargent of Isaban, McDowell County; and five sisters, Geneva Casey, Faye Anawalt, Phyllis White in South Carolina and Joan Hager in Virginia.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, the Rev. Jack Brown officiating, with burial in Sunset Memory Gardens.
