Old Man Dies a Hero.
John Fletcher was the old man killed in Geneva. It was while trying to drag from the tracks of the Aurora and Elgin electirc road a log that would have caused a serious wreck that he was struck and killed by a speeding car.
Fletcher , it is said drifted into Geneva, Ill., last fall looking for work, and Lee Ramon, a mechanic of the town, gave him a home. He had been seeking employment and was supposed to have been on his way home when about 7 o'clock he saw the log on the track.
Collection to bury him.
There were forty-two passengers upon the car and a collection to cover the expenses of the old man's burial was begun among them by Albert Anderson of Batavia, who ordered the body taken to Aurora, with a promise that he would see to its fitting interment.
