From the website, Previous Vice-Chancellors, Sewanee, The University of the South: Cordes Boylston Green (1949-1951) was vice chancellor for exactly two years, the shortest period served by any of Sewanee's administrative heads. During his brief tenure, construction commenced on two new buildings, Gailro and Gorgas halls, and the University's Religion Department was established. Green also brought an Air Force ROTC unit to campus and confronted a series of fires, including the one that destroyed Thompson Union.

His obituary found in The State 25 July 1965: Saluda, N.C. (AP)-Dr. C. Boylston Green, an associate professor of English at Wofford College since 1956, died Friday night in Saluda after a long illness. He was 60. A native of Columbia, S.C., Dr. Green had been professor of English at the University of Missouri Graduate School, vice chancellor of the University of the South, Sewanee, Tenn., and acting dean of men and coordinator for the Navy at Middlebury College in Vermont. He obtained A. B. and M. A. degrees from the University of South Carolina and a Ph. D. from Yale University. Survivors include a son, Halcott Pride Green II of Saluda; three sisters, Miss Virginia Green of the home, Mrs. Frederick L. Devereaux of Callao, Va., and Mrs. Gordon Grant of Weston, Va.; and a brother, Halcott Pride Green Jr. of Saluda. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Episcopal Church of the Advent. The body is at Floyd Mortuary, Spartanburg.
