Willie Mae Schneider, 84, of Sedalia, died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born at 403 N. Hurley St. in Sedalia, Missouri Dec. 12, 1919, the 3rd of 10 children of William F. Wehmeyer (1889-1957) and Martha Francis (Sebree) Wehmeyer (1896-1943).

On June 22, 1937, in Otterville, she was married to Lawrence Clayton Schneider, who died Feb. 12, 1985. She helped work the family farm for their entire marriage, except one year when they moved to Kansas. During the early 1960s, she worked at Rival Manufacturing Co. and later at Interstate Studio in Sedalia. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed taking trips as a member of the Jolly Elders. She loved gardening and being a homemaker. Survivors include one son, Larry D. Schneider, of Sedalia; two daughters, Barbara Ann Oswald, of Columbia, and Sheryl Bottcher, of Warrensburg; two sisters, Katherine J. Schuerman, of DeSoto, and Mable Euphemia Chiles, of Sedalia; and one brother, John Marshall Wehmeyer, of Mora; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Samuel V. Wehmeyer, Forest E. Wehmeyer, and William F. Wehmeyer; and three sisters, Bernice T. Ficken, Bessie F. Rayl and Eloise J. "Delores" Morris. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joann Keele and the Rev. Rusty Smith officiating. Pallbearers were Dan Schneider, Eric Schneider, Clay Oswald, Travis Bottcher, Gavin Bottcher and Gene Smith.
