Obituary from the Cole Camp Courier, Thursday, November 30, 1922
____________

William Ervin Sebree was born January 17, 1903 in Benton County, near Tahoma. He died on Wednesday morning, November 8, 1922, at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. F. Wehmeyer, aged 19 years, 9 months and 21 days.
His death being due to dropsy and brights disease. He was converted in the Methodist faith at the Union Church.
William was a precious soul and was loved by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his loss three sisters and a half brother, Mrs. W. F. Wehmeyer of Sedalia, Mrs T. M. Wheatley of Florence, Miss Ida Sebree of Cole Camp and Sam Sebree of Kansas City and a number of relatives and friends.
His mother and father preceded him to the world beyond. At the age of 4 years he was taken into the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Stratton with whom he has made his home until the death angel called him.
He was laid to rest in the Williams cemetery Thursday. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Woolry in the presence of a large number of sympathizing friends.
Just half an hour before William died he sang the song "Jesus Lover of my Soul", and told his sister he had made his peace with God and he was ready to die.
There was not a brighter boy than he. He had a smile for every one. He was a treasure lent by Heaven for only a short time, but we try to console ourselves with the thought that though he cannot come back to us we may go to him. - A FRIEND
