John was the first of three sons born to Luther and Maude Johnson Gossett. He was an extremely intelligent man, who worked in the oil industry, working all over, Texas, Alaska and Isreal.

He married Dona Bell and they had three daughters, Donna, Jonni Lynn and Tammy.

He was the great grandson of Newt & Clara Jennings and Finis Anthony & Alice Clementine Gossett. He was the first grandson of Ima Lee Johnson.

Preceded in death by his daughter Jonni Lynn; father, Luther Gossett Sr; sisters, Betty Jean and Kathryn Ruth Gossett.

He was the brother of Lena Maude, Betty Jean, Catherine Ruth, Mary Alice, Thelma Ann, Sue, Luther Jr, Doris and Richard Gossett.
