Hannah E. Lagut
Hannah Elizabeth Heeter Lagut 84,of Parker , formerly of Bruin , died at 11 a.m. Monday at Laurel Manor Health Care Center , Emlenton , after a brief illness.
Born March 23,1921, in St. Petersburg , Clarion County , she was the daughter of Josiah and Mary McMun Grantz. She was a Catholic. In her early years , she worked in the housekeeping department of Sarver Hall at Butler Memorial Hospital. She then attended the Butler Beauty School : and after graduation , she established her own beauty shop in Parker and operated it for years. She later was a cook at the Plaza Restaurant at Exit 5 on interstate 80.
Mrs. Lagut enjoyed crocheting and crafting.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Richard(Mary) Gamble of Karnes City , Mrs. Clarence (Betty)Pennington of Kingsport, Tenn., and Mrs. Charles (Doris) Maurhoff of Foxburg ; a son Edward "Sonny" Heeter of Butler; two stepdaughters; and three stepson. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren,14 great -grandchildren and numerous step -grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren , nieces and newphews.
Her first husband , Arthur M. Heeter , died Nov. 22 ,1962. Her second husband , Lawrence F. Lagut , died Jan. 26 , 2001.She also was preceded in death by two stepdaughters, a stepson , three sisters and two brother.
LAGUT-Friends of Hannah Elizabeth Heeter Lagut, who died Monday , Dec. 12 , 2005, will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, Wayne Street , Parker. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Boyd Smith , pastor of the West Unity Community Church near Harrisville , officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery near Cowansville.
