Mrs. Miller was born Oct. 6, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pa., and received a master's degree in elementary education from Duquesne University. She was formerly a kindergarten teacher in the Pittsburgh school system. She worked in library services at Anne Arundel Community College.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Annapolis where she taught Sunday school. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Oliver. Her interests included knitting.
Surviving are her husband, Lawrence "Larry" Miller; two daughters, Amanda and Lauren Miller of Annapolis; her twin brother, James Lindner of Lancaster County, Pa., and another brother, Donald Lindner of Pittsburgh.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.hardestyfuneralhome.com.

I worked with Joyce at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD. She was a wonderful person who was devoted both to her family and her job. She was by far one of the sweetest people I have ever known and she will be sorely missed by those knew her.
