Deputy Constable Joubert, of Precinct 7, Harris County, Houston, Texas. David worked as a warrant deputy constable, going after "deadbeat fathers" who owed child support. He previously had worked as a law enforcement officer with Fort Bend County Texas before joining Pct. 7 in 2005. He often was seen tinkering around in his garage, and had organized neighborhood block parties. A friendly guy, he was easy to talk to and made neighbors feel at ease, safe, in his neighborhood. He was killed while escorting a funeral procession when a car made an illegal U-Turn from the right hand lane right in front his motorcycle. David was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served as a sergeant in the Vietnam War. He was first married to Helen Anna Bushnell. They divorced in 1977. He is survived by his wife, Harweese Annette Joubert, whom he married in 1978; and his children, David Joubert Jr., Jessica Ramsey (Steven A. Ramsey II), Shelanda Triggs and LaTanya Denise Joubert-Campbell (Clifford Campbell); 4 grandchildren, Brianna, Barry, Aeris, and Liam; 4 siblings, Geneva Neal, Hubert Joubert, Alton Joubert Jr. (Flora), Anna Joubert; and many dear relatives and friends.
