Janice was the daughter of Myrna (Timberlake) Ratcliff. Only sixteen years old when she died.

Janice Ruth Ratcliff - 15, Sept. 7, Donna, Texas, when shot in the chest in a double slaying. (See Emma Duke, elsewhere in this column.) A sophomore at Donna High School, J.R., as she was popularly called, had returned to Donna only a short time before the slaying. She had been on Fisher Bros. Circus during most of the summer, performing as a trapezeist, She was the daughter of Myrna Timberlake Ratcliff, also an employee of Fisher Bros. Circus. Was born October 20, 1959. Survivors in addition to her mother include her maternal grandparents "Brownie" and Josephine Timberlake, former operators of Clark & Walters Circus. Funeral services were held in Texas and at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown,Ind., with the Rev. Robert Riggs conducting the latter services. Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Medora, Ind., the former winter quarters of circuses operated by the Timberlake families.
