Mrs. White and the attorney's son, Lawrence White of California, were at the bedside when he died. Mrs. White was grief stricken.
Active in Oregon Democratic politics before coming to Arizona. Mr. White attended several national conventions as a delegate from that state. At one time he was commander of the Oregon national guard, and during the World war served as a colonel on the staff of the judge advocate general of the U.S. army.
For nine years he served as a district judge and previous to that was elected attorney for Multnomah county. He obtained his legal education at Emery college in his native state of Georgia, then went to Portland to take up the practice of law.
Coming to Arizona after the war, he soon became prominent in law circles, and for some time was an attorney for the Colorado River Commission of Arizona. He made several trips to Washington, D. C., in the interest of Colorado river matters.
A candidate four years ago for the Democratic nomination for superior court judge , he was defeated. He had been in ill health for some time, and death was not unexpected.
