Marriage Report in the Table Talk (Melbourne) of Apr. 29, 1926: Carrick—Cable. The Easter decorations at Christ Church, Acland street, St. Kilda, on Saturday, April 3, made a fitting scene for the marriage of Miss Florance May Cable, youngest daughter of Mrs. Ann Cable and the late Mr J. R. Cable, of Foam street, Elwood, to Mr James A. Carrick, also of Elwood. The Rev. Pennicott performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Fred Cable, wore a frock of ivory georgette and silver tissue, with an effective trimming of hand-made silver and ivory velvet flowers and orange blossom at shoulder and side. Her tulle veil, lent by her sister, Mrs R. A. Proud, of Sydney, was kept in place with a headband of orange blossom and clusters at each side. A shower bouquet of white roses, heather and pale pink carnations was carried. The bridesmaid, Miss Grace Carrick, wore a dainty frock of mauve georgette, hand embroidered. Her hair was swathed with silver, and she carried a posy of pink and mauve flowers. Mr J. Macmillan was best man. A reception was held at Wickliffe House. Mrs Cable received In a black crepe romaine frock with georgette side panels and a black velvet hat with diamente dagger. She was assisted by Mrs Fred Harris, sister of bridegroom. The bride and bridegroom motored to Sassafras, where the honeymoon will be spent.
