Charles Parrott was born on March 4, 1797 in France. He married Elizabeth __________ (last name unknown). Elizabeth was also born in France. The 1880 census shows that they came from Paris, France. The family came to the United States of America in the early spring of 1845 and settled in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Five years later the family moved to Lowell, Kent County, Michigan.
The family farmed 120 acres of land on the bottom left hand corner of lot 28. Lot 28 is located across the street from the Merriman Cemetery.
They had a total of nine children. The first seven were born in France, George, Louis, Margaurite/Margaret, Jacques/Jacob, Emmeline, Sophia and Clement Parrott. Their last two children Carmelia and Mary Parrott were both born in Michigan.

Mr. Parrott, of South Lowell, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dick Thurlby, aged 99 years.
