Son of Mrs. Minnie M. Rogers.

Ronald served as a Sergeant, 513th Parachute Infantry, 17th Airborne Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Sevier County, Arkansas prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 9, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents.

Ronald was "Killed In Action" when the C-46D #44-77595 transport plane he was a passenger on was shot down by German Artillery during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in the Netherlands and was later repatriated here on November 28, 1950.

Service # 38516215

The reason he is named on a group headstone is because when soldier's were killed in close proximity to each other they were unable, at that time, to identify them separately and interred their remains together in one grave.
