TODD W. FRITCHA, 50, of New Haven, died unexpectedly in a work related accident Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a member of Grace Gathering, New Haven. Todd was a heavy equipment operator for Fritcha Construction since 1982. "Todd loved his God, his family, and his friends." Surviving are his loving wife of 26 years, Lynna; children, Matraca and Zachary both at home; mother, Diane Fritcha of New Haven; siblings, Teri (Steve) Lake of Fort Wayne and Troy (LeAnn) Fritcha of New Haven; in-laws, Leonard and Marquita Mattes of New Haven; sisters-in-law, Lynette (Art) Augspurger of Fort Wayne and Michelle (Bill) Jordan of New Haven; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Fritcha in 2011. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Grace Gathering, 3157 Minnich Rd., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastors Chris Norman and Tim Smith officiating. Calling also from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014 and 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the church. Burial in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven. The New Haven Police Department on Friday confirmed the death of a person who was pinned under the back wheels of a large truck.

The incident took place around the 7500 block of Lincoln Highway East, about 400 yards off the road. The police department and Adams Township Fire Department responded to the scene and reported finding a man pinned underneath the vehicle around 8:59 a.m.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Allen County Coroner's Office on Friday afternoon identified the man as Todd Fritcha, 50, of New Haven. The cause of death was ruled to be blunt force trauma, with the manner of death an accident.

The incident remains under investigation.
