May Taylor Brown

May Taylor Brown died December 4, 1982, at her home.
She was born Feb. 23, 1911, Loa to Isaac Harvey and Julia Ada Potter Taylor. She married Charles LaVor Brown, April 2, 1928, Loa. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
May served as president of the DUP and the Senior Citizens. She was active in the LDS Church, having served in various offices including Relief Society President and Primary President. She celebrated her Golden Wedding anniversary, April 1, 1978.
Survivors: husband, Loa; daughters, sons, Mrs. Wade (Owana) Grundy, Loa; Mrs. Richard (Myrna) Larsen, Bicknell; Mrs. L. Royce (Erma) Allen, Bennion; Mrs. Robert Newell (Lois) Jones, Price; Arlen, Earl and Dale Brown, Loa; 26 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; brothers, sister, Melvin Taylor, Mayfield; Ward Ray Taylor, Loa; Oren Taylor, Loa; Zona Riddle, Lovelock, Nev.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Loa Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Scott Durfey, officiating. The family prayer was given by Dale J. Brown. Prelude and postlude music was played by Lorna Brown. The invocation was given by Albert Brown. Speakers were L. Royce Allen, Clay Blackburn, Spencer T. Rees, Nadine Brown and Bishop Durfey. Music was provided by a ladies trio, Connie Torgerson, Anna Lou Hutchings and Carolyn Wood; the Peterson Brothers and a male quartet. The benediction was offered by Oren Taylor. The grave was dedicated by Reed Lindsey. Pallbearers were Steven Grundy, Leon Brown, Gary Allen, Gordan Brown, Greg Larsen, Jeffrey Allen and Roger Jones. Burial was in the Loa Cemetery by Springer Funeral Home, Richfield.
