Entertainer. Born Dominick DeLuise, he graduated from Manhattan's High School of Performing Arts and attended Tufts University. He began acting in the late 1950s and became a fixture in films, television and plays, often working on comedies with Mel Brooks and Burt Reynolds, with credits including "The Glass Bottom Boat" (1966), Neil Simon's Broadway production of "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" (1968), "The Dom DeLuise Show" (1968), "The Dean Martin Show" (1973), "Blazing Saddles" (1974), "History of the World Part I" (1981), and "The Cannonball Run" (1981). He also provided voices for several animated films and TV shows, including "An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island" (1998), "An American Tail: The Mystery of the Night Monster" (1999), "Dexter's Laboratory", and "Robot Chicken". In addition, DeLuise wrote several children's books and cookbooks and hosted a 1990s version of TV's "Candid Camera". A talented chef, in recent years he was a regular contributor to "On The House with The Carey Brothers" a syndicated radio show where he gave cooking tips to listeners and callers. Dom DeLuise was the husband of actress Carol Arthur and the father of actors, Peter, David, and Michael DeLuise. (bio by: Bill McKern)
