Son of Ernest E. Best & Ida L Fleming Best.

Harold served as a Master Sergeant, Headquarters Company, 118th Quartermaster Battalion, 43rd Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Franklin County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Vermont National Guard on February 24, 1941, prior to the war, in Saint Alban's, Vermont. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Secretary and also as Single, without dependents.

Harold "Died Of Wounds" in the South Pacific during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
