Manuel E. Mideiros, Jr., 94, of Santa Maria, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011.
Manuel was born on February 5, 1916 in San Luis Obispo to Manuel Sr. and Olivia Mideiros. His family relocated to Santa Maria when Manuel was young. He attended local schools and graduated from Santa Maria High School. Manuel was married to Aeldean Mideiros on November 19, 1938 in Santa Maria. Manuel was a lifetime long line truck driver and diesel mechanic, working for Fitzgerald Trucking for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing; and recently travelled to Baja for a wonderful fishing trip.
Manuel is survived by his son, Ronald Mideiros and his wife, Sherry, of Santa Maria; daughter, Colleen Pyle and her husband, Bob, of Santa Maria; sister, Marie Branquino; grandchildren, Ronald Mideiros, Jr. and his wife, Shane, Curt Mideiros, Marie Pyle, and Tim Pyle; great grandchildren, Joshua, Christina, Matthew, and Kaitlynn Mideiros. Manuel was preceded in death by his wife, Aeldean Mideiros in 2002 and his brother, Clarence Mideiros in 1968.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2011, followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2011 at St. Louis deMontfort Church. Interment will follow in the Santa Maria Cemetery.
