Wayne loved to hunt and fish and travel. He continued to enjoy traveling and fishing even after the disease was affecting him. With assistance he could fish for bass and would sometimes reel in the big one. This really thrilled him.
Wayne was a Christian and was kind and generous. He loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Joy, his daughter and her husband, Ruth Ann Mitchell McElfresh Terry McElfresh, his grandson and his wife, Eric Wayne McElfresh and Danielle McElfresh, his mother, Margaret Mitchell, his brother and his wife, William and Beddie Mitchell and 2 nephews, 2 nieces, 2 great granddaughters, and aunts, and cousins, as well as his mother-in-law, Lee Ruth Goochey, and brother-in-law and his wife, Glenn and Nancy Goochey..Since his passing we have had another great granddaughter. He would have greatly loved and enjoyed all these girls, but his condition would not let him recognize any of them.
He was laid to rest on May 30, 2014 in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth.

He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Bio by Joy Goochey Mitchell∼His parents were Edgar John Mitchell and Margaret Louise Gentry.He married Joy Elaine Goochey on Sept. 4, 1965. They had one daughter, Ruth Ann. He was a mechanical engineer and worked in the chemical industry until he retired.
