Son of Arthur Desroches & Marie E. Desroches.

Gerald served as a Private, 60th Infantry Battalion, 9th Armored Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Franklin County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on April 7, 1944 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He was noted as being employed in trades and services and also as Married.

Gerard was "Killed In Action" during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
