Glen S. Beitel, 90, of Aurora passed away on Monday, March 31, 2003. He was born August 23, 1912 in Aurora, the son of the late Claude and Ruby (Smith) Beitel. Glen was a 1931 graduate of East Aurora High School. He worked for 50 years for Illinois Wholesale Co., which later became known as Shorr Paper Products, retiring in 1977. He was a former member of Fourth Street United Methodist Church in Aurora. Glen was an avid photographer. He and his wife Bonnie thoroughly enjoyed traveling throughout the world over the years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Bonnie M. (Burkhart) Beitel of Aurora, his son Jon C. (Donna) Beitel of Oswego, his daughter, Joan A. Kelley of North Aurora, four grandchildren: Jon Jeffrey (Kimberly) Beitel of Hinckley; Jeanne A. Henn of Oswego; Timothy A. (Laurie) Kelley of Midland, GA and Christopher E. Kelley of North Aurora. His eight great-grandchildren: Kris and Jaime Beitel of Hinckley, Mike, Tony and Vinny Henn of Oswego and Lyndsey, Courtney and Jed Kelley of Midland, GA.
Besides his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his son in law Edward A. Kelley of No. Aurora.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove. Interment will take place at Oak Mound Cemetery. Rev. Dan Fields will officiate. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 from noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
