|Death: ||Apr. 28, 1921|
age 70 yrs died from Chronic Myocarditis, was a patient in The Gardner Colony for the Insane for 11 yrs 3 mos 29 days. Johanna was born in Ireland like her father William and her mother Mary Lamallan. She was buried in St. Johns cemetery 29 April 1921 by the undertaker J. Roark, likely in an unmarked grave. Some time many years later (my educated guess) her name was inscribed on the headstone of Thomas J. Barry, mistaken for Thomas's mother Johanna Barry, who died six months earlier. This Johanna has been adopted into our family with the hope that a descendant of her family will some day find her memorial, retrieving her memory for their own.
Historical Note the Gardner Colony for the Insane became an institution where many infirmed and aged people were cared for, the name of the institution may not reflect condition of the patient.
