Herington, Franklin L. "Frank", died January 12, 1907 in or near Konawa, on the Pottawatomie - Seminole County line in, Oklahoma. His gravesite has not been found yet. He may be buried near Konawa in Pottawatomie or across the line in Seminole County, Oklahoma, possibly in an unmarked grave. He may also be buried near Oakman, just south of Konawa in northern Pontotoc County. His first wife, Martha Roe - Herington died in New Mexico in 1886 and is buried there, his second wife, Sarah Elizabeth Leanora "Nora" Rozell - Herington - Summerour, re-married and later died and is buried in California.
Frank was one of the fifty scouts with Colonel Forsyth, that were later known as the Forsyth Scouts and in September of 1868, fought the battle of Beecher Island, Colorado Territory. Frank was wounded at least twice during the battle.
His wife, Martha "Ellen" (Roe) Herington - Herrington, daughter. Minnie "Julia" (Herington Dodd and granson, Samuel C. Dodd, areall burieed at Cedarvale Cemetery, White Oaks, Lincoln County, New Mexico.
