Lee C Hodges
SPRINGFIELD ~ Lee C. Hodges, 51, of Kildare, died Saturday morning at his residence after a long illness.
A native of Screven County, Mr. Hodges had lived in Kildare for 26 years. He was a farmer and a member of the Mizpah Methodist Church and the Newington Masonic Lodge No., 503. F&AM, of which he was a past master.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estelle Brower Hodges; two sons, Herbert Hodges of Clyo and Jerry Hodges of Kildare; a daughter Miss Dottie Hodges of Kildare; his mother, Mrs. Sarah J. Hodges of Port Wentworth; three brothers, Joseph Hodges of Springfield, Ray Hodges of Port Wentworth, and Lamar Hodges of Sylvania; five sisters, Mrs. Fred Womack of Atlanta, Mrs. Robert Hendrix, Mrs. E. E. Hurt, Mrs. Ralph Rollins and Ms. Walter Rollins all of Port Wentworth, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in North Newington Baptist Church, with Rev. William H. Ford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Hodges, Lester Hodges, James Dugger, Willie Capterton, Robert Hodges, and Edsel Hodges.
Honorary pallbearers will be Henry C. Tuttle, C. L. Tuttle, B. C. McCormick, Ezell Fox, Rittie Fox, John Hodges, Ertell Burnes, Till Graham, Watson Edwards and Jeff Prowell.
The body is at the residence.
