Birth: Nov. 29, 1947
Mission District
San Francisco County
California, USA
Death: Mar. 3, 2012
San Mateo County

Rock Guitarist. Noted for experimental and innovative work, he was active, originally in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene, since 1969. He recorded and performed throughout the years through the present time. His albums featured artists such as Sammy Hagar, and consisted of bands Montrose, Gamma, and more. He also worked with Boz Scaggs, Edgar and Johnny Winter, Herbie Hancock, Van Morrison, Grammy nominee Mitchell Froom and many others. His versatility led him to explore hard rock, acoustic, electronic, and stylistic changes which were frequent, unexpected, and ahead of their time. Ronnie was known for his soulful and heartfelt musicianship, and his electrifying live performances. He battled prostate cancer for several years, and after a two year hiatus he had recovered sufficiently to resume touring. He planned charity work as well as did interviews with inspirational messages to encourage others prior to his death. (bio by: Terry Leigh)
