Bernadette Gertrude Tissier, nee Tritz, 94, of Belleville, Ill., born Oct. 1, 1916, in Caledonia Township, Columbia County, Portage, Wis., died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at St. Paul's Home, Belleville, Ill.

Mrs. Tissier had worked as a claims adjudicator at Scott Air Force Base, Ill. She was a former member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Parish in Belleville, where she had also been a member of the Ladies Sodality. Bernadette was an avid bridge player and a passionate gardener.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Anna, nee Thielen, Tritz; five sisters, Marie Jirsa, Olivia Manning, Rhynelda Curtis, Malinda Tritz, and Velma Scheel; and three brothers, Roland Tritz, John Tritz, and Marlin Tritz. Surviving are five sons; two former daughters-in-law; 11 grandchildren; a step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister; a brother-in-law; and good friends.

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fairview Heights, Ill., or to the American Parkinson Disease Association.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Father Eugene Neff officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Ill.
