Warren Lee Taylor, Sr., departed this life Thursday afternoon, January 11, 1973. Born in Richmond, VA.

The Ricmond businessman was killed when the bed of his dump truck accidently fell on his head.

He attended Maggie L. Walker High School where he learned the craft of master masonry and was instrumental in building the church annex to Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, which is used by the congregation.

In 1969, wanting to become an entrepreneur, formed a partnership with his brother in the excavating and landscaping business known as "Taylor and Taylor."

He is survived by his devoted wife, Irene Moore Taylor, four sons, Warren, Jr., Wayne, Weldon, and Wendell; three step=daughters, Denise, Annette, and Deborah Moore; his parents, Benjamin and Inez Page Taylor; two brothers, Irving, Sr. and Clifton Taylor; one sister, Doriane Taylor Mills of Lynchburg; and a host of relatives and friends and a devoted friend, John Greene, Jr., whom he took in as a son.

Memorial services were held Monday, January 15, 1973, at 11am at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church. Rev. Carl B. Brown officiated. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Died January 11, 1973 at 3:40 PM at 2029 Broad Rock Road, while at work at a construction site, due to accidental crush of skull, caught in the mechanism of a dump/pump truck.
