He was the son of William and Lucy ARNOLD, natives of Tennessee and one of a family of seven children, four sons and three daughters all of whom having preceded him in death, except one brother Hopson ARNOLD, now in the Soldiers' Home at Quincy, Illinois. He was united in marriage with Rebecca SANDERS, January 19th, 1860. To this union were born twelve children. One son George R. and one daughter Lucy having preceded him to the great beyond. He had been a great sufferer for the past three years, but bore his afflictions with great fortitude His highest ambition in life was to serve his family and fellow man and was always upright and sincere in all his dealings and transactions. The funeral services were held Thursday at 11 oclock from Mt. Zion Baptist church, Rev. LONG of Oakford, Illinois, officiating. Interment in the Land Cemetery. The pall bearers were his four sons, Luther E., Albin E., Benjamin F., and Frederick G. and two son-in-laws, B. H. RUYLE and Charles SCOTT.
