John Cal Slaven, age 83, passed away Tuesday July 5, 1977 at the Crossville Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Mae Slaven, one son, John Cal Slaven Jr. of Crossville; three daughters, Darlene Jennett Buck, Kathrine Gail Slaven, Rhonda Slaven, all of Crossville; one sister, Eller Slaven of Jamestown. Also 40 grandchildren and 68 great grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, July 8, at 10:00 a.m. at the Jamestown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chester Rhoad officiating. Interment in the Livingston Cemetery.

Children by previous marriage include three sons, Joe Slaven, Bud Slaven, both of Jamestown, Kenneth Slaven of Anderson, Ind.; six daughters, Dorthy Zachary, Ellen Zachary of Anderson, Ind., Dottie Wheeler of Ohio, Jean Choate, Evelene Slaven, both of Jamestown, Francine Roberts of Anderson, Indiana.
