Constable, North West Mounted Police, Killed in the Line of Duty, Age 19.
Inscription on plaque: "Cst. Marmaduke Graburn was the first member of the North West Mounted Police to be killed in the line of duty. A former sailor, he enlisted in Ottawa and was sworn in at Fort Walsh, North-West Territories on June 9, 1879. He was killed on November 17, 1879 and is buried at the little cemetery at Fort Walsh, Saskatchewan. This memorial stone was erected in his honour by his troopmates."
