Bud chambers,evangelist,singer,songwriterOn Friday afternoon, January 26th, 2007, a legend, a warrior and a passionate lover of people crossed that final river into God's Glory. Bud Chambers, quietly and gently slipped into eternity and into the arms of Jesus at 74 years of age. Our loss is His gain. As the Apostle Paul said, 'For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.' (Phil 1:21 NKJV) While our family and many others are mourning his passing, we are also rejoicing in the hundreds of thousands of lives that he impacted for Christ around the world. He began preaching, singing and taking Christ to the Nations from the time he was 15 years of age. He wrote over 3000 songs, many that became classics in Southern Gospel Bud was born in Maud, Oklahoma and was the founding pastor of the glorious Church in Oklahoma City. Danny Chambers, (& Jillian), 5 grandchildren, Melody (& Akil), Christopher (& Nicole), Sydni, Isaac, & Destiny; one great grandchild, Tyra; 3 brothers, Charles Chambers, Glen Chambers & Johnny Chambers; 1 sister, Geraldine Alsup and Darlene Chambers, former wife & mother of their only son. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at Oasis Worship Center, 6016 Nolensville Pike, by Pastor Danny Chambers, with visitation from 3:00 - 6:30 p.m. Interment Christ Church Memorial Gardens.
