The following is the obituary of Mrs. Annie Sandifer Trickett, taken from the Shreveport Times newspaper. Mrs. Trickett's lifetime of genealogy research, culminating in her book "Sandifer: SC to MS and Westward", has provided many Copiah County researchers with a wealth of excellent, well documented family history material.
"Shreveport, LA - ANNIE SANDIFER TRICKETT, February 25, 1920 - March 16, 2002. A memorial service for Annie Sandifer Trickett will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 21, at Couch Chapel, First Methodist Church.
Mrs. Trickett died Saturday, March 16 at home at Montclair Park. She was a member of First Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed B. Trickett and son, Ed B. Trickett, Jr.
Survivors are her daughter, Linda Shemwell; brother, James Sandifer, Jr., as well as three grandchildren, a niece and nephew.
Born in Leesville, Annie Trickett lived most of her life in Shreveport, but spent recent years in Dallas before returning. She attended Byrd and Centenary, later graduating from La. Tech, then receiving a Master's degree from Texas Women's University. She was a board certified genealogist and the author of two genealogy books pertaining to her family line."
