Marines 16 November 1967 at the Philadelphia Recruiting Office his Home of Record was listed as Philadelphia, PA when he was actually living in Camden, New Jersey with his wife and daughter.
Upon arriving in Vietnam 8 May 1968 Phillip was assigned to Mike Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
Phillip was married and served his country for about 6 months.
Survived by his wife, Elrita E Brockman and his daughter, Diedre R Brockman of 620 Chestnut St, Camden, New Jersey, and his parents, Sabe Black and Eloise Brockman of 639 Hill St, Winston Salem, North Carolina.
