(*) Obituary: "Walter I. Lindsay - Graveside services for Walter I. Lindsay, 62, of Biloxi were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.

Lindsay, a native of Greenville, had worked for the Greenville Police Department, the Washington County Sheriffs Department, and served in the Army National Guard in Greenville. He had worked in construction on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for several years.

Lindsay died Aug. 17, 1998 at Memorial Hospital in Biloxi.

He is survived by two sons, Walter Guy Lindsay of Woolmarket, Ms. and Michael Joseph Lindsay of Gulfport; a daughter, Heather Lindsay of Sidon; six brothers, Joe Lindsay of Tupelo, Frank Lindsay, Wallace Lindsay, James Lindsay, Morris Lindsay of Greenville, and Lee Roy Lindsay of Jackson; four grandchildren.

The Rev. Bob O'Neal officiated.

Mr. Lindsay was born in Greenville, MS. He worked at the Greenville Police Dept., and the Washington County Sheriff's Dept. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard in Greenville, MS. He also worked in construction on the Gulf Coast for quite a number of years. He retired from the Air National Guard Security Police in Gulfport, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jessie Lindsay; and two brothers, Andrew Lindsay and Warren Lindsay.

Survivors include a daughter, Heather Marie Lindsay of Sidon, MS.; two sons, Walter Guy Lindsay of Woolmarket, MS., and Michael Joseph Lindsay of Gulfport, MS.; four grandchildren, Lindsay Greco of Sidon, MS., Natasha Lindsay, Jason Lindsay and Christopher Lindsay, all of Woolmarket, MS.; and six brothers, Joe Lindsay of Tupelo, MS., Frank Lindsay and Wallace Lindsay, both of Greenville, MS., Lee Roy Lindsay of Jackson, MS., James Lindsay and Morris Lindsay, both of Greenville, MS.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 1998, at Liberty Chapel in McCool, with burial in Liberty Chapel Cemetery.
