Ben K Allensworth, 69, of Boone, CO, a native of Galesburg, died today at 5:30 AM in St. Mary's Hospital, Pueble, CO, where he was a patient two weeks. He had been ill five years as result of a stroke.
Funeral and burial services will be held Monday at Pueblo.
A retired rural route mail carrier, Mr. Allensworth was born January 26, 1891, in Galesburg, and was an Army overseas veteran of World War I.
Following the war, he was employed in the Galesburg Division offices of the Burlington Railroad for a few years prior to locating to Colorado. He was assigned as a regimental sergeant-major during his Army service.
Survivors are his wife, the former Grace Maxwell of Colorado; two brothers, Rodney D of Denver, CO, and George of Galesburg; a sister, Mrs. Lauren Goff, Galesburg, and a son Kay of Boone.
Mr. and Mrs. George Allensworth and Mr. and Mrs. Goff departed this afternoon for Colorado to attend the services.
