Funeral services for John J. Small Jr., 47, of Lovington, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Smith-Rogers Funeral Chapel in Lovington.
Gene Reese of Carlsbad will officiate. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Carlsbad.
Mr. Small died Wednesday following a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Carlsbad, where he also attended School. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1960.
He had lived in Lovington for the past seven years.
On Oct. 2, 1980, he married Nina Sue Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Small of Lovington; two step-sons, Robert and Brandon Thienes of Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Angela Allen of Las Cruces, N.M.; his parents, John Small Sr., of Carlsbad, and Erna Small of Lovington; two sisters, Henrietta Jacobsen of Appleton, Wis., and Carol South of Irvine, Calif., and one granddaughter.
