Jewel Mae Faris, 87, of Litchfield died at 2:10 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jonathan Bontke officiating.
Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.
Mrs. Faris was born in Litchfield on Dec. 31, 1925, the daughter of the late Harry and Kathryn Harriet (Lueschen) Dutton. She married Edward Al Faris in Mt. Olive on Feb. 2, 1947, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1980.
A member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, she began her employment as secretary at Zion Lutheran School in Litchfield. She then worked as a cook at Litchfield High School and later cleaned at Roller Derby Skate Corp. in Litchfield.
In her leisure time, Mrs. Faris enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Edward (wife Suzanne) Faris of Waterloo and William (wife Cindy) Faris of Ballwin, MO; daughter, Kathryn (husband Franz) Todt of Bloomington; brother, William "Buzz" Dutton of Beardstown; six grandchildren, Adam and Conner Faris, Trevor and Daniel Todt, Maggie Mae Faris and Sydney Faris; and companion and best friend, Don Randle of Litchfield.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Faris was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Dutton; and three sisters, Harriet Ortman, Dorothy Faris and her twin sister, June R. Prange.
Memorials may be made to Evergreen Place in Litchfield, the American Heart Association or the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
