She was a daughter of John and Nancy (James--most researchers say her maiden name was James, but I believe it may have been Jones) Houser. Some say her mother's maiden name was Fink. She was first married to James F Dickson and then Thomas Jefferson "T J" Roberts.
Woman, 95, Falls Dead in her Home
End Comes Suddenly to Mrs. Polly Roberts of Saline County.
Mrs. Polly L. Roberts, aged 95, a native of South Carolina, but for 74 years a resident of Saline County, died at her home at Blocher yesterday morning. Mrs. Roberts was up and apparently was not ill. She fell to the floor suddenly and when her sons reached her side, she was dead.
Mrs. Roberts was born in South Carolina August 8, 1827, and in 1848 moved to Blocher, Saline County, and had lived there ever since. [This is incorrect. She and T. J. were living in Greene County, Tennessee, in 1850 and Independence County in 1860.] She is survived by two sons, M. L. and W. S. Roberts, and one daughter, Mrs. Lizzie peavey, all of Blocher; also by 14 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed. [from the Arkansas Gazette, Sunday, February 19, 1922]
