America Caroline Hudson Clatterbuck was the daughter of Henry Moss Hudson and Harriett Elizabeth Crank. She married Waller Clatterbuck on March 20, 1873. They had 7 children: Charles Samuel, Boyd Leopard, Shannon Douglas, Harriett E., James Hamilton, Guy Lutie, and Mary Elizabeth.

Sometimes her husband would tease her about having a "Crank" in the family. She smoked a pipe because she thought it helped her asthma.

New Bloomfield Woman Dead

Mrs. America Clatterbuck, 76, a Life Long Resident.
Mrs. America Clatterbuck, one of the oldest and best known residents of the New Bloomfield neighborhood and widely known in Cole County died this morning after a lingering illness. She had been making her home with her daughter w Mrs. Curtis Christian near New Bloomfield since the death of her husband, Waller Clatterbuck about a year ago.

Mrs. Clatterbuck was 76 years old and was born and reared in the New Bloomfield community. She resided there practically all her life.

Two children mourn her death, Mrs. Christian and Douglas Clatterbuck of McCredie. One sister, Mrs. Ada Jones of New Bloomfield and four brothers, Sam, John, Robert and Hiram Hudson all of Callaway county also survive.

The funeral will take place from the Dry Fork Baptist Church at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon.
