THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO LEAVES FLOWERS FOR MY GRANDPA AND IF HE WERE TO EVER MEET YOU HE WOULD TALK TO YOUR FOR HOURS. He was a great man in his older years! Ernest loved country music (Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton was one of his favorites. He loved to play the guitar and rock in his rocking chair. He loved his family and all the grandkids, his sisters, brothers, nieces & nephews.
Ernest was a Battersea Boy--his best friend was Bubba Davis. He truly loved Petersburg. He and Bubba performed their tunes on the local radio station where they wore uniforms to the station.

He was a resident of Dinwiddie County most of his life was spent on Duncan Rd. That is where he was the caretaker of Thomas Jathan "TJ" Stone . TJs parents passed away and left him their farm. Ernest and Margie and TJ lived there until TJ passed. The farm is still there not much remains just a barn, a pack house, pole shed and a pond. The house was bulldozed due to tree falling on it.
