James Arthur Skipper, Jr. was the son of James Arthur Skipper, Sr. and Mayola Josephine "Josie" Noland Skipper. James'

Paternal Grandparents were David James Skipper and Mary Catherine "Kate" Dillon Skipper.

James' Maternal Grandparents were William Franklin Noland and Sarah Matilda Beaty Noland.

James maried Eva Louisa "Louise" Maxwell on November 19, 1939 in Conway Co., Arkansas.


James and Louise were the parents of one son and twin daughters. One of the twins, Josephine Ann, passed away at thirteen months due to a heart valve defect.


James was working for Cities Service Defense Corporation in Lake Charles, Louisiana when he received his Order to Report for Induction on November 2, 1944. By May 8th, 1945, James had completed training and was stationed on the island of Luzon, Philippines(South Pacific Islands). James' duty was to drop supplies from planes over military positions. On June 26, 1945 his plane crashed, killing him. James was 23 years 7 months old. He is buried in Manila, Philippines. The Memorial# is 56777619. A Memorial Stone to honor James Arthur Skipper, Jr. is also located in Lanty Cemetery.


Louise married Lyonell Halbrook in 1946. She and Lyonell were the parents of four children.

Louise passed away on April 9, 2002. She is buried beside Lyonell at Old Liberty Cemetery, near Scotland, Van Buren Co., Arkansas.
